I've never seen people laugh at others equipment or insult what they are
using. I do see people discussing what they are using. Nobody laughs at my
equipment....probably because they are too busy laughing at my big belly. I
have seen some very rude photographers though, mostly in Yellowstone where
some of the self-anointed pros think it's OK to just step in front of others
or sort of push them to the side so they can get their shot. It's amazing
how just a little flick of the toe can send their big tripods (and their
ignorant asses) tumbling into the rocks. Fortunately I find most people to
be quite considerate. Besides, while the jerks are fighting over the
animals, I'm photographing their girlfriends. Wildlife indeed!

I went up to the mountains as well as a few flower parks here in Taiwan
today. Both were crowded like Time Square in New York. Yep, couldn't
walk...
At the flower garden, it was rediculous.. It was a show of cameras.
Those with the new whizbang Canon's laughed at those with the older
Nikons, who laughed at those who had the p&s's, and one guy came ARMED
I'm talking two backpacks, one in front, on in the back, a side pouch, a
Leica R8 with a 500mm lens, and a studio tripod... None of them were
taking pictures you understand, just walking around, laughing at other
people's cameras..
