Actually, two:
1. Is it possible (or adviseable) to mount a T-32 into an umbrella, and
how would you do that?
Sure. That's my standard "portable studio" setup -- anywhere between one
and three T-32s slaved together (via appropriate Oly cabling, natch)
depending on the amount and quality of available light. I bounce 'em into
umbrellas of various sizes. You can use standard studio flash mounts which
screw into portable light stands and allow you to fire the flash into the
'brella. Light ratio is controlled strictly by where you place the flashes
-- cabled together, they all quench at the same time, so produce the same
output. So, you vary the flash distance from the subject. If you need to
know what all the little bits are to do this, visit your local friendly (?)
pro shop and ask. They'll be happy to load you up (at least, mine was...).
2. If one was to use TTL flash with, say, a slave AC strobe (or any other
slaved flash for that matter), will the TTL take any other light into
account, or will the extra flash wash things out?
I've tried this with other flashes (Vivitar 283s, for instance), and it
hasn't worked for me. Probably minute timing differentials are screwing
things up. My solution was to make sure I was using Oly cables with an
OM-4. The alternative is that I've used nothing but 283s with the
Varipower module, and balanced the flash using a Minolta Flashmeter. Then
you can take flash shots to your heart's content.
