My C*n*n has "Eye-Control Focus", but, due to some
coordination difficulties of mine (I've trouble keeping
my right eye fully open with my left eye fully closed -
yeah, go on, make fun of me <g>) I couldn't get it to
work properly....unless I kept my left eye open.
It worked quite well in certain circumstances (moving
tarkets, like dogs and family), and on certain lenses
(50mm and 28-80mm - doing it with the 100-300 is sure
to send the migraine monster rampaging through my
skull :-) ) for that very thing Winsor mentions above.
It was pure luck (and lack of coordination) that made
me discover something all rangefinder users have probably
always known! :-)
(Note, it's improved my composition on some things...but
then, I was/am at a pretty low starting point <g>)
...and now I have a rangerinder (35RC)
Cheers
