Their philosophies are not to do whatever it takes to obtain the highest
quality result. Only a *photographer* would do that. The people you
observed are not in it for that. Conventional wisdom is that Bose makes the
finest loudspeakers, Cadillac & Lincoln can't be beat, and that all Kodak
film is created equal.
It sounds like you may have planted a seed in his mind though that
everything has to be controlled.
