I'm not sure what your personal gripe is with AOL, but as a computer systems
architect with 20 years of experience in the industry and two young children, I
did (and periodically still do) extensive research into the ISPs available to
me. I selected AOL because they have the most flexible and foolproof methods
for me to control what my children are able to see and do while online. This
despite what Microsoft might say about their MSN network. To me it's worth the
extra $10 a month for the peace of mind. I also find they provide the
consistently fastest dial-up access in my local area.
I have to agree with you about the advertising though...
