Uh oh - flame sensor alarm*.
Plus-X is an entirely normal film if developed properly. I have the contrast
curves in front of me as I write. I've shot, developed and printed it - it
can be very nice. Many others have used it. Films, especially in niches such
as B&W, don't last as long as it has if they're terrible.
It does have a short toe, so if you don't expose carefully you can lose
shadow detail.
