My preference definitely is to have three pedals on the floor
and a shifter in hand. (What's the middle pedal for?) However,
both Geo Metro mashers (SUVs) are equiped with the normal
mind-numbing automatics. "Oh, was there a car sitting in that
parking spot? I guess I didn't see it. Hope I didn't scratch
my differential--I hate scraping tinfoil out of the u-joints".
OM content: I did take a few pictures of my RX-7 before selling
it. <sniff, sniff> I really want one again... You just can't
downshift a slushbucket like you can in the RX-7. Coming down
from speed ("slight" violation of the federally recommended
maximum highway speeds) you whip the revs up and hit the next
lower gear. The simultaneous sounds of tires smoking and 8500
RPM is sooooo sweet. It sounds better in the convertable than
the hardtop.
Not quite as sweet sounding as a Cobra being downshifted from
high speed, but sweet enough.
