Hi List,
Well Sam, Chris, & Roger probably think I'm really rude for not reporting
back on last weekends meeting sooner, but it's been a busy week.
Anyway, as reported by everyone else, we had a most enjoyable day. Both
Christine and myself enjoyed ourselves, and hopefully took some good photos
too. It was good to meet up with fellow OM'ers and not worry for once about
holding everyone else back as I mounted "a more appropriate lens". I need
quite a lot of practise to get to Sam's level, however - his skills at
dismantling and rebuilding an OM system whilst walking along a crowded
street are quite remarkable !!
Also, it was great to actually get to London without any specific purpose
(other than socialising & taking pics). Normally my trips to London are to
go to a specific place, and I have no time to wander around. It's mad, as I
have lived within an hour of London all my life, but I've never really
LOOKED at things when I've been there. To wander slowly along the streets
and look UP (instead of concentrating on not tripping over people /
pavements !) revealed a whole new city I'd never seen before. And the views
from the top of the monument where something else - With the right lens I
could probably see my house !!
Well, I have the B&W film awaiting development, and the colour slide film is
still in the camera (couple of shots left). Unfortunately, knowing my
timescales, the chances of me printing much from the B&W before the summer
are remote. I still have a couple of films from last June which I have
processed but not yet printed. As soon as anything is ready and scanned
I'll post it either on my web page (under construction) or on my Pbase
pages.

So, thanks to everyone involved for an enjoyable meeting. I hope we can do
it again sometime in the summer, and maybe even get some visiting
state-siders along for a wander around our city.
Regards,
Jon
(& thanks from Christine too)
