A zoom that could meet you requirements (if you can find one!) is the
Vivitar 90-180mm f4.5 Flat-Field Macro. Originally designed for medical
work, it has probably the best performance of all zooms for macro work
(max. 1:2 at 180mm). Very sharp, two-touch, built-in tripod mount, but
heavy at 2.3 lbs. There is a section regarding this lens in Monaghan's
'Cult Classics in Third-Party Lenses'.

I believe that Tom Scales had one of these for a while (still?).

I am interested in getting a Zoom lens and I was wondering which one
people would recommend and why.
Here are some of my criteria:
1. Possibly a tripod mount
2. Two touch (I want separate controls from zoom and focus). As the
lens would tend to be used on a tripod, I don't want the zoom setting
sliding when the lens isn't level.
3. The lens should be pretty sharp (hopefully as close to a prime as
possible)
4. The zoom should be somewhere in the 80-200 range
Here are the ones I am curently considering
Zuiko 85-250mm F5
Tamron SP 60-300 F3.8
Tamron 80-200 F2.8
Actually I don't know that much about the Tamrons, so I don't know if
they meet all of my criteria. I just remember hearing people on the
list praising them for their sharpness.
Of these which do you prefer or would you get?
How much should I expect to pay for these?
Is there another lens that I forgot that people really like?
