I've got a P***ax RA finder. I've got no idea if it's M or K, but the
previous owner had adapted it for some other camera system (and done it
very ugly!). Hence it was cheap and gave an upright image so I took a shoot
at it.
I first tried with parts from a damaged Eye cup 1 but couldn't get it to
hold together properly, it actually broke off once.
The second time I did it right: I took off all the mounting hardware and
replaced it with a spacer and a sheet of plastic cut out to fit the OM
finder frame. I used both glue and all the original screwholes to hold the
plastic sheet in place and the Pentax now slides in place just like the
Varimagni - and sits there. There wasn't much to it when I found the right
thickness of plastic.
It works like a charm, gives me an upright image and shows the whole
finder. The only thing one could wish for is higher mag at times, but how
much can we expect from a simple P***ax?
Oh, one more thing: There isn't much room for additional spacers if you
want the screen in focus. I guess this finder was made for a system with
another diopter in the viewfinder.
