Well, I just bought a used enlarger today with 6x7 in mind. It seems to
be in almost new condition. It's a Beseler 67S dichro head on a
dual-girder chassis. I've never seen one of the 67 heads on a Beseler
double-column frame before. It was the resident enlarger in the private
darkroom at school and the school just signed a contract with Omega, so
I grabbed it. There were a number of other enlargers for less money
that have been used by the students, but they were mostly beat. This
one seems really clean. They even gave me a fresh quartz bulb for it.
The bellows has that kind of sticky, shiny look that new bellows have.
I took the head apart and it seems really clean. I wonder how much use
this enlarger got. The only thing that looks beat is the negative
carrier and I'll bet that's from another machine because it looks like
it was dragged behind a car for a few miles. The lens is a Perfex 75mm
f3.5 that I don't really know anything about, but it seems clean FWIW.
So I vote Darkroom. ;-)
