Here's a shot of Colin Edwards, riding his factory Honda SP-2 on his
way to the World Championship in 2002. Photographed same exact
details as the Troy Bayliss shot, 400 mm handheld, over the fence
with the 200 and the 2X-A, blah, blah. Same turn as before... (sorry,
w/o track access, there's only a few places from which to get decent
photos...this is one of them...)

Some background:
This event was key in the championship. Edwards was behind over 50
points at this venue, and everyone has all but conceded the
championship to Bayliss....all but Edwards, that its. He won the
second race here at Monterey (the series runs two races per day that
count equal in points) and went on to win every race in the rest of
the championship, 9 straight! The championship went right down to the
last weekend at Imola, Italy. Bayliss and Edwards raced incredibly
hard but clean. The quality of the racing was absolutely
incredible...neither rider giving quarter to the other. I have not
seen a motorcycle race like it in 13 years. An incredible performance
from both riders. It will go in the record books as one of the
greatest motorcycle races ever. Edwards took the championship to the
astonishment of everyone. Honda then let him go....idiots!
