A first rate translation. A few slightly awkward english usages, but
never anything unclear. As a happy owner of this lens, it was an
enjoyable read. Tests indicate that the second version, with the 55m
filter size, is sharper.
I think the writer would have been much happier with the Kiron 105/2.8
that focuses to 1:1 than with the Vivitar. The big advantage of the
Tamron is the matched 2x flat field multiplier that makes it a 180/5
that focuses directly to 1:1. The extra reach is wonderful in many
outdoor situations. (The 1.4x makes it 126/3.6 that focuses between 1:1
and 1:2, not really enough longer or closer for me.)
