Well, I thought it was nice, but you guys are really giving me a big head.
And my wife was chastising me for not doing more chargable work to pay for
all my gear.
To answer some of the questions and comments:
Scanning - I like scanning B&W better than color transformations. The
tonal balance is smoother, IMO. I use a Polaroid scanner, which seems to
be better than the Nikons at B&W, due to it's cold, diffuse light source.
I've only been using Delta 100 and 400 these days.
Subject - This was a the 2002 Memorial Day Parade in Westfield, NJ, where i
live. Every year for the last three, I just take 2-3 cameras and walk with
the parade, taking pictures of the crowd, photojournalist style. My family
is in the parade as Girl Scouts, so I get out of the be-with-the-family
lecture. The little girl in the picture was riding with her family in one
of the parade cars and she stopped next to me. I had time for 3-4 shots,
two of which were just like this one. I actually gave my card to her
mother and asked her to call me and I'd send a print, but I never heard
from them. I should look them up.
Technical stuff - The top of the car was in diffuse sun, so that's the
reason that it has burned out. I kind of like it. The shot was shot at
f/4, if I remember right, which really popped the focus point out.
Thanks again. I'll post more stuff.

Nice. How do you find scanning Delta 400 vs. scanning color & turn it into
B&W?
