I bought an original chrome Olympus Trip 35 for £3 English pounds (about $5
american). It said the aperture blades were stuck so was sold cheap for
spares. I took it home and managed to repair it and now the selenium
meter/auto diaphragm and manual diaphragm modes seem to work fine.
Can someone help me though!
I tried to mark out how far the lens was screwed in on the
'mountain-infinity' setting but lost the position. I am now not sure that I
have put it back together at the correct screw in focus adjustment. The
lens turns when the focus dial is turned but I am not sure I have the
adjustment right.
What I should have done was
a)measured the distance between the lens base plate socket and the top of
the black lens rim on the 'mountain-infinity' setting before umscrewing
or
b)Before unscrewing the lens, marked the lens rim at '12 o'clock' with
sellotape, screw the lens in as far as it will go, counting the number of
turns. Only then unscrew it to see and clean the aperture blades. Then
assemble it by screwing the lens in all the way, then unscrewing the correct
number of turns, with the '12-o'clock' sellotape mark matched to the top of
the camera.
This way, the focus adjustment should be preserved.
Do you know:
1) The distance between the lens base plate socket and the top of the black
lens rim?
or
2) Do you know, once I open up and get to the lens, if I screw the lens in
all the way, how many turns would I unscrew it to get the correct focus
adjustment, set to 'mountain-infinity'?
