Mazda is running an ad right now that goes back to the great era of IMSA
GTU domination by the RX7 that you would love if you haven't seen it
Ken. By the way, Mazda still pays Audi for the rights to build the NSU
Wankel engine <g> so it is kind of an Audi.

with the 350/2.8 and 1.4XA converter. Why nobody from Mazda or Mazda
Raceway at Laguna Seca hasn't bought this one from me, I'm not sure. I'm
still hoping the track can use it someday. Four rotors that lasted 24
hours, the crowning achievement to date for Mazda in motorsport by far.

Beautiful photo, Mike! and car, too!
Well.....there certainly has been a lot of [OT] talk about cars
lately, and not enough about photography.
So, let's merge the two subjects. As you know, there are no. of
members here, e.g. Mike V. and myself and others, that use our
manual focus gear for motorsports photography.
I recently posted a racing shot that I took during the FEB 2002 CART
sneak preview for the panning assignment currently underway at
Photosig.com. One of the critiques (viewable at:
http://www2.photosig.com/viewphoto.php?id=443553 ) was from another
Oly guy, Greg Heumann. He was shooting with an E10 that day,
apparently right next to me when I took the photo. Anyway, he sent me
a link to a Quicktime movie link that he also shot that day on his
videocamera. If you want to get a VERY good sense of just HOW FAST
these cars are, and the challenge they pose to motorsports
photographers to capture effectively using old manual focus lenses,
check out this link:
http://flypcc.org/greg/video/CART_Practice_Med.mov
It's big (28 meg), so it's not for the bandwidth-challenged, but if
you like cars and photography, you should check this out. Also, if
any of you are Photosig.com members and would care to contribute a
constructive critique, I would certainly welcome your feedback.
BTW, Mike, you should join Photosig, and post something on the
Panning Assignment.....show these guys shooting EOS D1's and Nikon
D1H's with predictive autofocus lenses just how it's done. ;-)
Cheers,
Stephen.

John,
If you (or any other listmembers) have an MIJ M/C 50mm f/1.8 for
sale, I'd sure like to buy it. I'd also like to buy one of the M/C
(e.g. #6) for a local Oly buddy. Email me at scharfsj@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
