The 3v Lithiums will not damage your camera. They just don't last and
give often confusing results. The mirror may lock up on one shot, then
work for a few, lock up again, etc. This is because they can't produce
the current needed to operate the shutter except when fresh and/or after
a little rest. Soon they can show as good on the battery test function,
but won't operate the shutter.
The Eveready 376 is the preferred battery for our Olys, better even that
an SR44. Any of the '76' series (376, M76, etc.) batteries that are the
right size and silver oxide will considerably outperform alkalines .
There is lots of info, including detailed specs., on this in the archives.

Nope, the system is designed to use 1.5 volt silver oxide batteries.
Not sure what would happen if you put the 3 volt battery in there, but
I wouldnt even try it.
If you cant get the sr44s there are other 1.5 volt silver batteries
that can be used. I dont recall all of the ones that are
interchangeable, I'm sure someone will give you a list.

Hi there,
I have been having difficulty getting SR44 batteries for my
OM20/XA/OM4. I can get LR44 (alkaline) bateries but they never seem
to last long.
I have found a 3v Lithium battery (DL1/3N, CR11108, 2L76) which is
the same size as two SR44s.
Is it safe to use this lithium battery in the cameras?
