I sold my F280 a long time ago, when I left the OM-fold 8 or 9 years ago. I
have of course since the error of my way, and have a sizable Zuiko
collection now. Anyway, one reason I left then was the F280 flash. I just
couldn't get consistent pictures out of it. That, plus it PULLed the
hotshoe off my OM-4T! On hindsight, the inconsistence was probably more due
to my lack of expertise, rather than the flash. It is so much easier to
blame the equipment than admitting lack of skills :-)
I have recently got a Studio light setup, so the "formal" stuff is all set.
I think I will venture back into small (camera-mounted) flash again. Of
course now we hit one of the Achilles Heel of the OM system - it is tough
to do fill flash :-( I look at nicely fill-flashed pictures from my wife's
C-3000 digicam and can only sigh with envy.
So what's the next best thing? Should I get another F280? Doesn't it give
some fill-flash like capability (on the OM-4T)? If not, would I be better
off w/ the T-32, or T-20, or just go with one of the Mertz and the SCA-321
adapter?
