Chris .... It also snows a lot. Fire hydrants are located every 100 yards or
so along the sidewalks and stand about three feet tall. Attached to each
hydrant is a piece of flourescent red two inch diameter plastic piping the
top of which is between six and seven feet from the ground. Hopefully the
top of the piping will stick out of snowdrifts, or the level snow, if the
firetruck is in need of a water hook up! On the west coast half an inch of
snow would spell chaos!
