Great shot Adam! The V8 Supercars are much like our TransAm series and
belching flames are a great element there too. Glad to see you got some good
shooting time in during the nice days.
Sorry the big show was drenched. Thankfully nobody was seriously injured in
the horrific opening lap shunt. Really a shame, the Surfer's Paradise CART
event is one of the big ones on the CART calendar. To have all that buildup
wind up in a 41 lap "race" with only six laps run under green flag
conditions--well, it was unfortunate. But, I hear also the rains are very
welcome so I'm glad to hear they may be helping the drought there some. I
gather conditions were so bad that the drivers were actually asking the pace
car to slow down! Very scary.
Off to shoot road going Audis at a club driver's school tomorrow and
Thursday, and then off to Fontana to shoot the CART Champ cars doing
~220-230mph on the 2 mile CA Speedway oval this weekend. Think I'll have to
deal with a little bit speed change in my release timing and shutter speed
estimations? ;-)
