When using my XA with A11 flash to do indoor snapshots of people, I use
200 film with the flash set at 400 (or 100 set at 200). This mostly
avoids the vastly overexposed people in the foreground against distant,
underexposed background. I don't know if it's just my particular
equipment, but this has worked well for me with automated color neg
process/printing. Not so good with people right in front of light
colored walls, but I avoid that 'cause of the shadow problems anyway.
