I have been using products from all three companies for eight years. Light
Impressions andCentury Photo are owned by the same parent company. Century
Photo is the consumer grade product company where L.I. is geared toward the
professional.
PrintFile is an independent company.
All companies sell archival quality "sleeves". I like PrintFile for the
quality of their product and L.I. for the ease of use.
My own choice is to use PrintFile pages for all prints and negatives. I then
store the prints in large three-ring binders with slipcases from L.I. This is
not an inexpensive solution but is is one which have keeped my photos in the
condition which will allow me to still appreciate them in thirty years.
I am always amazed when people have a wedding or take the trip of a lifetime
overseas and then arrive back in my office with a stack of prints which get
passed around to fifty or so people. As recently as this week, I promised a
co-worker who just got married a gift of PrintFile sleeves for his photos. When
the new blender and bread machine have stopped working - these sleeves will
continue to look great and so will his pictures.
