Wayne - I think a good negative from 6x6 should go to 30" x 30" without much
problem. Its about five times the area of a 35mm negative... the lenses
typically are almost as sharp, which leverages out to being much sharper at
equal print sizes due to the lesser enlargement. Conversely, you can enlarge
more for the same image sharpness, and the viewing distances are usually
farther back for larger prints, so sharpness can be less critical to the
image as well.
