Last week found me in the perfect place for a panorama shot.
Unfortunately I wasn't prepared. I recently fanged a Novoflex panorama
head at a garage sale but didn't bring it or the tripod with me, going
minimalist instead with a monopod. OK, for next time what lens do i use?
I was thinking about 85 as a good compromise between a manageable number
of shots to stitch and bringing up enough detail at the horizon. I
thought a wide angle would give too much sky and minimize the foreground
since i assume the lens must be level with the horizon bisecting the
frame. I wasn't planing a 360° vista, more like 120°.

Having no experience with this at all I would guess that the images
with the longer lens without wide angle artifacts would stitch
together more seamlessly.
