Rich,
A flying start - great stuff!
My monitor is pretty old, so I would hesitate to offer an opinion about
exposure - the framing looks pretty good to me in most cases.
But you have my sympathy; it is difficult trying to calmly and smoothly
operate a camera whilst watching a spectacle like that ;)
Thanks for posting them, and look forward to more..
Cheers,
Lee

Hi Lee & other fello Zuiks,
Here's a new folder of hydroplane pics from Lake Chelan Oct. 5. On the
water.
Maybe next time I'll be collected enough to put on the polarizer, get the
whole boat in the frame, and get the exposure correct. It's one thing to
get
excited walking up close to them in the museum, another thing entirely to
see
and hear them running, with people on both sides of you jabbering excitedly!
The Century 21 boat with the chrome valve covers is Merlin-powered, as is
the
Budweiser. A smooth, sweet sound. The others are Allisons. LOUDER and
very
"lumpy"/cam sounding. They don't want to idle at all, so they just fire the
engine off and go fast, right out of the "pits"! It must be something to
sit
right behind that engine with open exhaust just a couple feet ahead of you!
