Is it? I'm far from an expert, but the USN operated few Stearmans. Most were
a VERY similar looking aircraft designed and built by the Navy in their own
factory. I can't tell you what the differences are, but my father, whose
first job out of college was as a structures engineer at Stearman working on
that very aricraft, says they are really very different, despite
appearances.
