Skip,
To be honest I have several OM4Ts and 2 of them have
exhibited quirks.
Enough to make me wary of using one in say a wedding
or other critical event. I don't take the two together
where one is a backup for the other.
>From a reliability standpoint if I had to make a day
to day living with any camera gear and especially Oly
gear that is 20 years old, I would send it in for
overhaul yearly. Anybody read Sint's View in
Shutterbug? He has a 3rd backup which he stores in the
spare tire compartement of his car. He wrote an
article where he discussed the blow by blow events
than led him to use this spare once to save a wedding
shoot.
For those of you who have 4Ts have you ever had one
start sounding off the alarm without stop after taking
a picture and the only thing that would turn it off
was to take out the batteries?
When does this happen? Gee, I dunno. Hasn't
happened since when I was shooting some neat(critical)
pics of climbers in Yosemite with an 800. Missed some
nice shots of multipe climbers in the same pic 'cz of
equipment change out and freakin' out at the freakin'
camera. :))
Moral of story: The cost of ownership of a "reliable"
camera should include regular maintenance. So those
minty OMs are only mint to me after an visit to a pro
camera repair shop.
