Oh Geez, Schnozz! You really have stirred the pot! Talk about a subjective
issue -:).
I have a lens for my Retina IIIc that produces significant flare. In some
contexts it is rather interesting to see the results. That occurs in
close-in shots. But when one shoots a larger scene, especially if the sun
is coming from the front, the flare is really nasty. So, in some contexts
the "flaw" is ok, in others it is a serious problem.
Gets back to the arguement of Art vs. Science. Pixels on the Head of a Pin,
etc.
