I believe this applies to the 50/3.5 also. Oly marks all lenses with feet in
orange and metres in white. Where there is only space for one marking,
(wherever there is also a macro ratio scale) only one is shown, but still in
the appropriate colour. Evidently the one shown is dependent on the prevailing
measurement units in the market the lens was made for.
This does not count as a different version any more than T series flash guns
having different calculator panels (Ft or M), the only difference being that I
guess Oly don't make replacement (alternate) distance rings available quite as
easily as they made atternate calculator panels available.
