So have I. I've read Popular Photography, Shutterbug
and Peterson's Photographic a fair bit because they
are readily available at my library. However, I find
very little useful information. Occasionaly there are
interesting articles, but more often entertaining then
educating. One of the better magazines that I have
found is Practical Photography, it is a British
publication and expensive. But from my perusing in
the book store, it looks very good. Figures, the
Brits get all the best motorcycle magazines too.
There are a few other good photography publications,
but they're all expensive (10 USD +) and hard to find.
