According to recent posts in rec.photo.equipment.35mm, from the
same poster:

Though I never heard of a 58/1.2 lens. The same posts mention
the imminent announcement of the Canon D90 with a full frame CCD.
This would eliminate the current problem of lenses turning into
more a telephoto because of the smaller image target. Finally
we'd have a digital camera with the same resolution as film,
probably around 12 megapixels (yes, I know about the Contax, but
it is really expensive).
