Using an OM4T with a 90/f2 and a 50/f1.2 my camera mounted F280 failed
to fire on several occasions where there was bright backlighting but the
subject matter was in dark shade ...... people standing in a poorly lit
room against opened doors leading to a brightly sun lit exterior. The
distance from flash to subject was circa 12 feet. I had the flash set to
"normal" [because the shutter speed recorded less than 1/60 second], the
aperture set to ~f5.6, and the camera set to auto and I was using 160
ISO Portra. The subjects were framed within the centre of the
viewfinder. Can anyone suggest why the F280 failed to fire. It was
properly fitted into the shoe on the camera, I was using new batteries,
and the charge light was lit up.
On all occasions when there was less intense back lighting the F280
fired but then I was using Super FP mode.
