I've done several astrophotos with my Zuiko MC 200mm F4 (piggyback type),
and I'm very happy with the results. I'll try to setup a small web page
with some of my astrophotos (with the 200/4) and post the URL tomorrow.
On the other hand, I wouldn't recommend *any* zoom for piggyback. Remember
that the camera is moving slowly with the 'scope, getting into really
awkward positions -- even the least amount of 'zoom creep' would be fatal!
Speaking of awkward positions, I do recommend you to get a Varimagni finder
or similar -- it's a Godsend for piggiback!
I think the success in astrophotography is more related with an accurate
tracking. Unless you have a very large 'scope with a heavy-duty mount, a
lightweight *and* well balanced lens (like the 200/4) is a good thing --
you can make several minutes exposures with almost no guiding!
