George asked:
Hi again gang. Which Shipman covers the OM2SP?
--------------
Larry said 1985. I checked my two copies. It's still there in 1987 but
wasn't there in 1982. In 1982 the "complete Olympus OM system" is
defined as the OM-1n, Om-2n and OM-10, OM-10FC (manual control) and
OM-10 Quartz and 10-FC Quartz. By 1987 the OM-1n is still there but the
OM-2n has been replaced by the OM-2sp. Also added to the stable is
OM-3, OM-4, OM-4T, OM-PC and OM-77AF. The 1987 version also has better
quality paper than the 1982 version.
Here's a question. I note that my two books don't cover the OM-3Ti,
OM-G, OM-F, OM-88 or OM-2000. What minimal set of Shipman's books do
you need to cover the entire OM line? Would adding 1985 do it? I don't
mean to include here just different model designations for the same
camera as, for example, OM-PC = OM-40 or OM-4T = OM-4Ti. Maybe the
OM-2000 was too late and never included.
