Well I went back to buy it, but had a better look at the body. The foam
was shot and it was generally more scuffed than I thought at first look.
So I resisted the temptation. If anyone else is interested the dealer is
FOCINAC in Mortsel (Belgium) tel +32 3 440 0523. He agreed he could split
the body ($100) and the lens ($70) approx. (These are euro prices at 1=1
(!) and including 21% tax so it could be less for export)
best regards

Subject: Good price? OM2n w/35-70 f/4 (Document link: Jez CUNNINGHAM)
Hi all,
Just been looking at this OM2n with 35-70 f/4 combination in a dealer for
145 euro (=145$).
All seems working (new batteries):
- body: has a shoe 4; forgot to check foam but 6 weeks "warranty" (to find
faults...)
- lens: aperture is snappy, all glass is bright, with original hood. Are
there SC/MC versions? What s/n indicates MC or is it marked?
My OM-4 has flying shutter strings which I guess I have to get fixed (CLA
here is 140euro). How will I get on with an OM2n? Will I miss the spot
metering?
Apart from the automatic reply "buy it" what do you think?
Thanks
jez
