Tom,
Start her off with an OM-G (OM-20) instead. The G replaced the 10. That's
what I did -- bought one for each daughter, with a 50/1.8, when they hit 7.
Paid under $45 each (patience on ebay).
The OM-G solves some of the problems with the 10, like the sticky magnet
syndrome and doesn't require a separate manual adapter.
