Very much smaller views, don't you mean? The Novamat has
a flip-up viewer for when you want to view slides without
a screen. It is easily the biggest personal viewer. The
other mini-viewers either are small, or contain no fan to
cool the slides. Of course the Novamat costs between $2xx
and $3xx at B&H, so it isn't cheap. It cannot be considered
portable either.
I have not seen one in person yet, but I find it hard to
believe that it has a focus problem. It uses the same focus
mechanism as for viewing on the big screen.
