Might as well join the fray - my favorite light travel kit is: 24/2.8,
35-70/3.5-4.5 and 135/3.5 - all 49mm filters. OK the 24mm is a bit expensive
but I've never regretted buying it, the extra scope over a 28mm is
surprising. It's offset by the cheaper 135/3.5 which IMHO is underated -
just 'cos it's cheap don't necessarily mean it's no good, there must have
been lots produced.
I can get one more small lens in my light travel bag, so I can add the
50/1.8 for low light situations or a 2x converter.
And of course - a small table top tripod (for those self portraits, running
streams ettc.), filters bla. bla....
