Hi there. I recently acquired a winder 2 from the Evil One and have a slight
problem. Mounted it on my OM2SP and everything seemed to work OK so shot a
roll of film. In single shot mode everything's fine but in sequence mode
there is a black band down the left hand side of each (projected) slide. The
band is dead vertical, encroaches about 5 0nto the frame and has a soft
edge (bit like vignetting from a hood). The right hand side has a sharp edge
(took a transparancy out of its mount to check this). I was shooting in auto
mode, probably around 1/100th sec. The pictures are reasonably sharp (I was
panning) but maybe a liitle underexposed compared with single shot.
What might be causing this? Anyone experienced anything similar? All I can
think of is that somehow both shutter curtains are starting their travel
from slightly into the RHS of the camera frame. I've checked that when
winding manually, you can't trigger the shutter until both curtains are well
within the RHS of the body. I've also checked with winder on, the back open,
in manual 1/4 sec (any faster and it's impossible to see what's going on!),
in sequence mode but nothing looks untoward.
Looking for enlightenment (literally),
Mike Blayney, Devon (raining again), UK.
