I can't say much about the SC or early MC 21/3.5 but I
will say the late 21/3.5 is an absolutlely wonderful
lens once one gets the hang of it. Barrel distortion
is very slight in my lens. Flare is suprisingly well
done even in high flare situations. I've had a couple
pics blown up professionally to 20x24 with wonderful
results. You won't be disappointed with a late version
21/3.5. I would think the early SC version would have
worse flare control with a whopping 11 elements or
however many this lens has.
