I have and read most of Ansel Adams' books on photography, and he is quite
clear on how he made his famous images: a combination of big cameras, diligence
in getting the original image, then extensive technical work in the darkroom,
based upon a great deal of scientific research into the properties of his
chosen medium. In many cases Ansel explained in full detail how specific
named famous images were made. Critics claiming that it was somehow all a
fraud haven't been doing their homework; the images are not in any way
misrepresented. Ansel told us exactly how he did it.
I for one would be very happy to be able to take or make such photographs.
