Oh? Because you can't change the lens? I have three rangefinder
cameras that have lens mounts - and the lenses are meant to be
swapped. One of them changes from a stereo camera to a flattie
with the swap of a lens board.

You grant the Single Lens.
Reflex -> mirrored. In this case, a mirror in the optical path, which the D600
series has.
