We all learn here every day. Thanks for sharing your testing.
So we can learn from. No lens can cover all photographic needs.
Testing is necessary to find out, for what situations a specific lens is
appropriate for.
Well. When the ede blurr is caused due to curvature of field, then it
should be possible to get a image with sharp corners and blurred
center. It would be interesting to a serie with shifting the focus.
I did this with a Zuiko 1.4/50 SC at F1.4 and ~ 1:30 magnification.
And got really one slide where all corners are better than the center.
Differences were not much, only visible when carefully examining
the slide. -> Nothing to worry about.
Another question using wide-angel lenses:
What happens when your composing your subject not in the center.
When you use the central focusing aids, and then turn your camera
for about 30° when reframing, the distance of the rotated focusing plane
containing the subject would be ~cos (30°) =13 0.000000e+00ss far away from the
camera. -> lot of d.o.f. necessary.
So it would be better to focus on the matte-area? - Any experiences?
