Hi Nils,

Welcome to the group! We have support sessions daily, though often not well
attended on the weekends. We will help soothe your pangs of zuikoholism, but
be aware, there is no cure.

The 50/3.5 aperture blades don't have a nice symmetric appearance, this may
be more serious than the typical oily blades. I didn't note any oil on the
blades, so the cause for it to stick isn't apparant. If this was a 50/1.8
(commonly used as a body cap), I'd agree with the store personel, but this
is a 3.5 macro which has more value. I'm sure someone on the list will be
more help, but I wouldn't give up on the 50 yet. This one may need to see
the doctor. Perhaps someone in Germany will be able to point you to Olympus
knowledgable technicians.

When you pulled the 28's front ring off, you have probably dislodged or lost
the small ball bearing that rides in the aperture ring and provided the
'click' detents. Tightenng won't help at this point. Examine your work area
closely and hopefully it will turn up. I haven't had my 28 apart, but many
lenses have a trim ring with the brand and lettering that screws inside the
same threads that the filter screws into. Perhaps the trim ring and filter
will separate with some gentle encouragement? The trim ring may be the
holder that keeps the aperture ring and it's ball bearing in place. If you
get the two parts separated, and find the ball, and and return it where it
goes, then get the right tension on the trim ring, you may be back in
business.

Hopefully, someone with hands-on experience will chime in. Clint at
Photosphere and John at Camtech both offer a great deal of insight to our
list regarding the mechanics of our equipments. Given a little time, they
may offer some advice. Many listees have been spelunking about in their
lenses and may offer some advice. And someone may turn you on to a local
qualified repair center.

Good luck,
Mickey
