I thought Leica would build their own shutters.

Leica frequently used components from other manufacturers. Metrawatt
used to make their clip on meters. Angeniux supplied some of their
more exotic lenses. They made their own cloth shutters, but evidently
needed to go outside for the metal bladed ones. I think only the very
huge manufacturers have the resources to bring everything in house.
