Yup, best advice of all. Just difficult to put in practice when you are
"in a hurry." I did a grabshot of my wife and kid in a Science Fiction
Convention's dealers room playing w/ "lightsabers" - basically neon tubes
on plastic handles. The lightsabers came out really nice, just like the
movies :-) but I didn't notice the dealer on the back of the room w/ tons
of lights on her table so the main people were underexposed. Compounding to
the problem is that the Nikon Coolscan scanners are known to not handle
shadow details that well. I managed to punch up the LED analog gain to get
a usable web pic for her, but she is admonishing me for not using the
digicam, which of course has fill flash, auto exposure etc. etc.
