The only thing approaching a problem I have had with A&I was last summer
when I got back a roll of 120 Fuji Provia 100 with the edges obviously
having been exposed to light. I had shot the roll with a used, but new to
me, Mamiya RB67 back on a 6x9 Crown Graphic, so I initially blamed the
back, even though I had replaced the foam before using it. A second roll
came back fine, so it must have been a problem with their equipment and not
mine. Since the exposure was only along the edges and didn't get into the
actual pictures, except just slightly in one, it wasn't a big deal.
Besides, it was a just a test roll.
I don't shoot much print stuff, and when I do, I just drop it off with the
local guys with the broken E-6 processor, and they do a good job. I've
never had a problem with A&I scratching slides, but there's always a first
time for everything. I've got three 36-exp. rolls of Provia 100F in
various stages of transit between here and there at the moment, and I would
be surprised (not to mention pissed) if there's any problem when they come
back.
