Hi, all :-)
I know there are some electrical engineering types on the list, as well as
members who use rechargeable batteries in their digicams and other devices,
and I'm soliciting education and advice on rechargeable batteries for my
C-2100.
In the box with the camera, I got four 1700 mAh Camedia batteries and a
BU-100 charger, which says it will charge those batteries in 210 minutes. I
also purchased an Olympus accessory kit that included, amongst other items,
four 1600 mAh Instant Replay brand batteries and a charger for them. The
instructions with the accessory kit say that it takes 14 hours to charge the
Instant Replay cells in that charger. Poking around on the Web, I've found a
site called the Green Batteries Store
(http://store.yahoo.com/greenbatteries-store/index.html) that contains
information about various different types of chargers and batteries. They
recommend "microprocessor" chargers, one of which is a POWERhaus model that
looks very much like my Oly BU-100, and recommend 1800 mAh batteries but GP.
My questions are:
1) Is the Oly charger a microprocessor charger?
2) Can I interchange different Ni-MH batteries and chargers, i. e., charge
the Instant Replay batteries in my faster Oly charger?
3) Anyone have experience with these or other brands of batteries and
chargers, or bought from the Green Batteries store?
4) The Green Batteries site lists the Rayovac 1-hour charger, which is
available at my local Wally World. Any comments on this charger and Rayovac
batteries?
TIA,
Greg
