Gary, you're too kind.
At CA Speedway recently I was working on teaching my wife panning skills
with the E-10. It was great. In just a little while I had her reviewing
her shots on the little LCD display for instant feedback and she showed
remarkable improvement over the weekend. In thinking about it, I
realized she probably learned more panning technique via trial and error
with instant feedback in one weekend than I did in several years of
shooting film way back when. It dawned on me then what a truly great
learning tool a good digital camera can be.
Practice is key. Stephen's panned shots of those bikes are really nice.
I'm impressed especially by the thought of panning with a 600mm (300/4.5
w/2XA combo) as that is a very long focal length to pan with.
