I've got the exactly same lens as yours - one of the two only non-zuiko
lenses I bother to keep around these days. It's a nice lens, save for the
issues you have mentioned, however its biggest problem is SIZE. Man, that
thing is huge...and heavy. That's also why I don't use it much any more.
The other non-zuiko lens I have is also a sigma. The 50-200 apo. That too
is a nice lens. It complements the 21-35 nicely as an instrument for body
building. It also takes good pictures.
Both of them also look really cool - the black of the 21-35 with a red
line on the hood....and the all-white look of the 50-200.
As you can figure, I do not take many pictures with those. Size and
weight...I can carry two 200/4 for the weight of the 50-200.....
I have not seen any formal tests of either of these two but - as I said -
of the 3rd-party lenses I've had, those have been the survivors. They are
not bad, actually.
I've never had Sigma primes, so I am not too much help there....
